SOHO MEDICAL CO., LTD. was founded in 1973. Originally known as the Jiangsu Branch of China National Chemicals, Machinery, and Minerals & Metals Import & Export Corporation, it was one of the first provincial-level specialized foreign trade companies established after Jiangsu’s ports opened to international trade. In 1996, the company participated in the formation of High Hope Group. After decades of reform and development, it is now a subsidiary of Jiangsu Soho Holdings Group – a large wholly state-owned enterprise in Jiangsu Province ranked 181st among China’s Top 500 Enterprises – focusing on pharmaceuticals and medical products. At the same time, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Soho High Hope Group (stock code: 600981.SH), a listed company.
The company has long been dedicated to the import, export and supply chain services of pharmaceuticals and medical products. Its core business covers three major segments: pharmaceutical ingredients, preparations and finished drugs; medical devices and consumables; and food additives and pharmaceutical intermediates. It holds operating licenses for medicines, medical devices, food products, hazardous chemicals, pesticides, and radiation safety. It has obtained certifications including ISO9001 (Quality Management System), ISO13485 (Medical Devices Quality Management System), ISO14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), and forest certification. Some of its medical device products have completed FDA registration in the United States. The company is a founding member and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products, Vice Chairman of the International Public Market Procurement Working Committee, and Vice President of the Nanjing Pharmaceutical Distribution Industry Association.
